I love Caravaggio’s work, but it’s so normal to like some baroque iconic artist, I’ll talk about my favorite Brazilian artist, Adriana Varejão, she’s great doing gore. She has works talking about colonial history in Brazil using representation of Portuguese colonial art associates with gore to criticize all the abusive and terrible structure that for years was sustained here by the massive exploration in colonies. I love how impactful her work can be, but how delicate it is too.
