I haven't been on a date before, so that's one heck of a theoretical! As far as I'm concerned, a date shouldn't go too far above and beyond what you would be willing to do semi-regularly. I wouldn't want to take a guy somewhere that we'd never end up going again just for the sake of flexing how much I can treat them on this one occasion. If I want to show a guy the real me, we're going to an inexpensive local restaurant and having a nice meal. Then we're going back to my place to watch a movie, play some games, or otherwise hang out and enjoy each other's company. I wouldn't say anything beyond that is worth happening on a first date. But of course, I'm eternally single, so what do I know? :V
