OH BOY STRAP IN FOR A LONG ONE!! The story in both games are very enjoyable, both being very fun and humorous but also very mature in touching on the human psyche and mental illnesses (the game is about psychics and going into people’s minds and helping them through their own mental hang ups!) i love all the characters each one has their own distinct personality and raz the mc is such a spitfire!! I spoiled myself by playing through the 2nd game game before the first one which obviously has much cleaner gameplay/game mechanics. The first one is sorta wonky when it comes to gameplay bc it’s a 2006(?) game but the first game’s dialogue is personally 10x funnier and more crass. 2nd game still super funny but feels toned down a bit in the humor compared to the first, but the mechanics are obviously more perfected. The 2nd game is also super accessible! I like to play games for the plot and for the 2nd one it gives you not only an “easy” option but also an “invincible” option where you take no damage that way you can just focus on the story instead of the fighting! They also have different color options for those who are color blind :)
I super enjoy the games for both the characters and the plot! You can really explore the areas you’re in and talk to every person multiple times to get their personality and story like there’s clearly so much love and thought placed into the games. And if you like collectible games this is it! It’s a collect-em-all kind of game so there’s replayability. The game and level designs are just downright amazing and super crazy, the art style is so unique and unforgettable. If you don’t have the time or funds to play, highly suggest finding a silent lets play on youtube! There’s the first game, the VR game Rhombus of Ruin, and then the 2nd one that came out in august. I’m still trying to get through the first game now that I finished the 2nd lol but they’re so much fun!
