Authors are supposed to submit samples of 1.5k words. How much wiggle room is there? If someone submits a piece that's 1.2k words or 1.8k words for example, is that acceptable?
We would prefer that the samples are undee 1.5k. These need not be finished stories and can be an excerpt of a larger work. Something less than 1.5k is fine, but it needs to be sufficiently long that we get an impression of how you write.
Hi! When will mod applicants know if they've been accepted?
Hello! We will be reaching out to mod applicants sometime at the end of this week 🩷
Hi! Are nsfw pieces okay for portfolio samples even though the zine will be sfw?
For the submitted samples we would prefer SFW (artistic nudity and mild violence is fine) art, but it is completely fine if your portfolio includes more explicit stuff
Can we still apply to contribute if we missed the interest check?
Yes! You absolutely can 🩷 the interest check was merely to see how many might be interested in the project. Our Mod applications are currently open, and our contributor applications will open on the 28th of October, and we'll make sure to give ample reminders before we close the application forms.
in regards to your faq, which states " Our application form will require people to fill out which characters they’d be comfortable drawing or writing for, which requires at least 4 different characters, with a minimum of one being an NPC." does that mean that the contributor is not the one who'll choose which character they'll make art/write for in the end? like, we state the characters we'd make something for and then the mods are the ones who decide? just asking for clarification!
Hello! Yes, given that a character will only be featured in the zine a limited number of times (3 for origin companions, 2 for default durge and regular companions, 1 for each npc featured) we have to decide who creates what for who, so we don't end up with too many artists and writers for one character and none for another. Merch artists, however, have no such restrictions, though for that we do still want some degree of even content, at least for the main companions
