Hi! In an earlier answer you said that follower count and experience “won’t be a major part of the decision process”; does that mean follower count and experience WILL be taken into account in general, just not be a huge part of the decision making process?
Hi! Follower count will NOT be taken into account in any manner.
Previous zine and/or event experience may be beneficial as it shows you have a history of being able to meet a deadline. Those without experience won’t be penalised for this (everyone starts somewhere) and a healthy mix of both is ultimately the goal!
But the most important part of applications will be the samples submitted. If we enjoy the quality of your work and feel you will be a good fit for the zine, THAT is what will result in an acceptance offer, NOT follower count or experience.

Are you gonna prioritize the unknown artists or u gonna let all the popular ones that we see in every single zine? Cuz I'm hungry for unknown artists but the algorithm don't show them and zines are a great way to know artists!
We definitely want to feature a variety of artists and writers, including those who haven’t been in zines before or don’t have large followings. We will be inviting guests based on our interest check, which will help us decide who and how many.
Once our contributor applications are released past zine experience and following won’t be a major part of our decision making process, and no one will be penalised over it.
