Riva/Ereri authors are so talented, thought to ask some of y’all about process! Where & when do you write? With music/coffee/snacks? How long does it take you to write a one-shot from conception to finished product? Which is your favorite: drafting or editing? Do you write in a linear fashion or jump around? Do you know the ending from the beginning or figure it out as you go along? What do you wish you could write/do better in stories? What aspect do you love writing? Thank you for writing for Riva/Ereri!

I have two ways I get into the writing vibe. One I sit at my desk, put on epic space music and just do writing sprints. Another is I'll lie on my bed and write it on my phone while I watch a stream or a tv show. (To be honest, being stoned really helps me too 💀).

I usually write from start to finish without jumping around unless I'm desperate for inspo, editing as I go. I then do another edit when I'm finished before it gets a beta. The time it takes me to write it usually depends on my interest and motivation towards the piece. My exchange piece that I recently posted took me maybe a week or two for 9k words. But for that piece I was particularly excited and really motivated to write it. While my current piece for februereri is coming along a bit slower because ive had a bit of a writing slump. I'm still very excited for it, but when I struggle with where to go next I tend to stall a bit.

Usually I have a general idea of what I want to write and from there I sort of let Eren and Levi take the reins. I don't usually have a detailed idea of how it will end besides it being a sort of happy/content ending that I figure out as a go. Sometimes I just end up stumbling into the end.

I wish i could balance Levi and Eren povs better. Semi recently I started changing my writing from one pov at a time to a mixed one where it goes between them but sometimes I'm a bit heavy handed on one person's pov than another's (usually Levi I like his pov). I also wish my vocabulary was better. Even with the help of a Thesaurus and vocab lists I feel like I still fall short.

I don't usually snack during but I have water to drink, sometimes and energy drink.

My favourite aspect of writing is seeing myself improve. It's probably not as obvious to others but I can generally tell when I'm having a good streak in writing and when I've written something better than i did previously. I love writing Eren and Levi in love most.

Whoopo thank you for such a curious question! I'm always happy to talk about writing and my processes.
