well, I didn’t really suddenly decide to ship my wol with him. What happened is that I was HAUNTED for consecutive weeks by first person POV dreams of doing romantic date things with Alphinaud, and so I threw up my hands and went okay okay FINE I’ll draw it. It was all downhill (positive) from there 😔😔😔

A more serious answer is that I really enjoyed his attitude in ARR, and I think he complimented my wol very well!! Then as I got to HWs and such, and they went through massive character development, well!! They just felt to fit very well to me, and it scratched the part of my brain that looooves his character type.

Fun fact; bc of the confident way Alphinaud speaks, I actually thought he was a future seeing character type at first! Esp in a very early cutscene when he says “no matter the road we take, sister, our destination will remain the same” I thought the game was dropping hints that he could see the future or some shit, and I continued to think that up until the banquet LOL
