i've recently been watching xanxia (chinese fantasy) and so far i''m loving it because there is a lot of pain, angst and sometimes the death of the main character (sometimes it's permanent or they somehow come back to life) and now i need that angst ot8 version with chn dying because of a prophecy that he would die at the hands of the one he loves or he needs to die because he brings a curse to humanity and then comes back to life after traumatizing the boys (the famous "i'm going to kill myself in front of you and change the course of your life") and ot7 never leaving chn alone again or a lot of pain because he can't see a problem that automatically makes sacrifices without realizing it and ot7 loses his mind to take care of it with a lot of crying and comfort 😔

😭😭😭 you have me in tears over here. I think I could only do this if his death was temporary and Chn is able to come back to life. But I need all the heartache from his boys as they grieve his loss, thinking it's forever, knowing that the outcome they tried so hard to avoid was inevitable. And maybe Chn is just watching them from another plane of existence, his soul in limbo, bereft from the love off his lovers. Even he has no idea that his death is temporary. That he'll be with them again.
