you're right!!! but i feel like im going fucking insane bc even a person who is against the infantilization of furi (and is a nvfr shipper) somehow sees sige (and nahi) as a child, claiming she's depicted as one. but no one treats sige like a child except for neuvi, and even then he gives her the space an adult needs to live independently (her chara misc has him say he only wishes she's as happy during times he doesn't see her, like a father would his adult daughter who is now living independently). sige calls grown men "brave little guys" like they're children getting a shot, called fremi a "lovely boy" like a granny cooing over a mild mannered and polite youngster, and thought of wrio as an "impressive little grown up" like how yaoyao is considered a "little adult" and such considerations are only made by adults about children who are more mature, caring and emotionally stronger than most their age. if sige was a child, she'd see other children as equal to her, but she wants children to be intimidated by her like they were her teacher so they'd listen when told to take their medicine and she doesnt have to resort to tricks

honestly, if nothing about sige and the melusines changed except they were tall and sexy instead of small and cute, no one would question their adultness. and in the end, that's just body shaming plain and simple

biiiiig agree anon! the melusines were self-sufficient bc elynas had taught them all that, but they relied on neuvillette to help guide and protect them as they integrated into human society - as such, he took on a "father" figure role bc of that, as well as him considering them a new kind of species of vishap and as the hydro dragon sovereign, feels it his duty to take them under his wing so to speak. BUT it's not like he's "raising" each and every one. according to aeval, she's never even spoken to neuvi let alone have a personal relationship which implies this is true for other melusines as well. whether they're living in merusea or the court, they're getting by on their own. the melusines in the court have full time jobs with salaries and are financially independent and live independently and rely on themselves to get their own food, clothes and whatever other resources they may want or need. they can drink coffee if they want. they can go to a restaurant or watch a show if they want. they're not babies and anyone who treats them as such is disrespecting the melusines for real.

neuvi is their father figure in the sense that when they need guidance or a protector, he's there. but he's not taking care of them in the sense that they're relying him for money, clothes and food like a child would be.

you never stop needing your parents, even as an adult, and you'll never stop being your parents' child, no matter how much you grow up.

the melusines are capable women and deserve love and romance. each one deserves someone who thinks of them as the most wonderful person in the world.

on one hand, yeah!! on the other hand, it's bit iffy when allegory for neurodivergence is not human. but i guess you could say that what's common behaviours, thoughts and perceptions of a melusine are similar to neurodivergent humans!

that said, i don't think hyv intended for the melusines to be seen as "neurodivergent" or be an "allegory" for it. rather, they're just simply not human, with a nonhuman perspective. but their different way of seeing the world, and their different behaviours can be totally relatable to someone who is neurodivergent! (part of the reason why i love the melusines so much, as someone with adhd myself and have always felt so "different" and "out of place" in a world obviously not built for people like me), and because of that, sigewinne would absolutely definitely be autistic if she was human in an au, that is, if you wanted to keep most of everything about her that makes her who she is

sure. and the fictional child is a 400yo of a nonhuman species that is naturally small in nature and so if you were to put human features on a melusine they'd look more human childlike than not (also just the fact that hyv only uses 5 models and they wanted a playable melusine so they needed to come up with a reason why sige looks humanlike, but if they gave her a taller model she'd look too different from her fellow melusines)

and if you believe her a child, you should be more concerned about all the actual in game canon stuff surrounding her 🤪

but in the end none of this matters bc like you said, it's fiction and she's fictional
