Maya

I think biggest role in it plays the fact that I have seen and read so many things including Maya unliked with Mahiru... Now don't get me wrong Mahiru is literally an angel... but Maya is a blorbo...

She's the cold, stoic, egoistic perfectionist, who throws all her pride away at the sight of one (1) Baumkuchen.

And don't get me started at post-movie Maya, who's literally a child in a body of an adult after she's been set free by Claudine in the Revue of Souls. She's gotta make up for the youth she lost while focusing only on pleasing others. Pretending to be exactly who people around expected her to be. The perfect child prodigy a thoroughbred. People around her lied to her, she lied to herself for so long until it became truth.

I think she's amazing for she endured all of it her whole life, until someone came into it (Claudine) and was like "bitch you live like this?" and slapped her across the face with the beauty of the world behind other people's expectations. Maya realizing there's more to living than pleasing strangers and her parents, who quite frankly, don't give a shit about you outside of acting is an amazing path she probably would've never taken, if not for Claudine "personal space who" Saijo butting her way into Maya's headspace and taking action herself.
