jaybe typically avoids places with humans, so an abandoned amusement park would be an ideal place for her to take shelter and explore ! while there, she encounters arma, and turns out they can speak to eachother ! since both are birds too, they become friends :>

jaybe meets karl through arma after having watched him from a distance and hearing him play violin. karl does try to kill her initially bc of how human she looks, but after arma talks to him and seeing jaybe shapeshift into her owl form, he decides to spare her.

and with arma as a sort of mediator, karl and jaybe eventually start to trust eachother and become friends too !
