so i've been listening to "Nothing Matters" (explicit) by the last dinner party and the lyrics made me insane about voidwelt once again so heres a list of all the snippets that i (somewhat delusionally) interpreted as voidwelt content:

"i dig my fingers in, expecting more than just skin" - i see this song from va's point of view; they are used to being an inhuman entity that they are surprised when "and you can hold me / like he held her” - i like to think that “he” here refers to joachim and “you” refers to welt. va has seen the level at which joachim cared for tesla (whether platonically or romantically, that’s up to interpretation) and craves that closeness. va believes that welt, who stands before them now, is still capable of letting his guard down with the right person. “even when the cold comes crashing through / i’m putting all my bets on you” - welt is one of the few people that truly understands va, even if he does not think the same way as they do. in va’s mind, welt could very well be their “only chance”. va pursues their relationship with welt not only for their own gain, though, they also recognise that welt would benefit from having someone that he can let his guard down around. the “cold” could refer to welt’s self-destructive mindset or his tendency to mentally shut people out from loving him because he doesn’t think he deserves it (and he believes that he shouldn’t be indulging if his purpose is to defend humanity) “i put my heart inside your palms / my home in your arms” - this line could be from either perspective; both sides have let their guards down. for va, they feel secure enough around welt to explore the unknowns about themself. for welt, he allows himself to indulge (in his eyes, “be selfish) and be unburdened, if only for a little while -@rokiix from twitter :)

Walk with me for a second just walk with me- So so the Express crew trailblazing a planet, just the three kids this time, and meeting a very helpful person. They’re like a relic hunter or smth. Seems they can just make things out of nothing and is also a skilled fighter, they help out a lot on the trailblazing expedition, all goes well. The Express leaves the planet after solving their crisis, planning to visit somewhere down the line.
When they eventually come back, Welt decides to accompany them, the told him about a few things that they thought he’d like. Probably some mecha stuff, that’s literally his phone case after all. Then they run into their helpful friend, who Welt is thankful for their help. The group walks around the main city, Welt getting alone with the stranger well, until something… odd happens. Someone on the street asks them to get some parts and he creates them just like that.
That power, that familiar golden glow… he’s frozen in place, he doesn’t know how to go about this. This stranger, they’ve gotten closer, Welt can tell they harbor no ill intentions and yet- Did Void hide their consciousness from this new captor? Or was there more that meets the eye to this person? Dear god, was it possible that they- Someone was calling his name. Seems he zoned out for a while there and before he realizes it, Welt is gripping the person’s wrist tightly, a flash of red in his eyes. He knows he can’t blame this person until he learns more about what they know about the golden cube, but he can’t stop this wave of protective anger washing over him- He’s pretty sure he just heard the sound of bones cracking- someone’s calling to him again, someone else is tugging on his arm, yet he doesn’t- he can’t react to the world around him.

my hc is that void confessed in a way, void was so confused on why he felt so, weird, around welt, he knew what love was and stuff but hw had never experienced it himself, he would go to welt, asking him to help him figure it out and welt explained it was love, but void didnt say who the feelings were for welt, but then he did, welt didnt know how to reaction, welt has felt the same way but he would have to try and hide those feelings, being mad about those feelings, anyway then the two eventually got married

I hc that when Welt gets genuinely angry his eyes do the Herrscher thing. Like, his eyes will flare into the red as he gets the “you done fucked up” expression on his face. However nobody really knows his eyes do this because of how rarely he gets actually furious and looses it. People notice his eyes change a bit when he uses his power, but not to the same degree as when he’s angry. Void thinks that they’re the one who’s the best at pissing Welt off, even when he scolds them his eyes remain how they always do. The first time he gets angry enough for his eyes to change it’s probably in a dire situation where his loved ones are intentionally targeted. Those glowing red eyes combined with the furious expression must be horrifying to see. Void breathes a sigh of relief knowing that Welt never got THAT upset with them or they’d magically gain the ability to dream just to have nightmares about it

Void randomly popping onto the Express out of nowhere and scaring half of the crew shitless, then going on with their usual quips an attitude. Once they see Welt they stride on over with that mocking shit-eating grin and expect Welt to be all serious or at least look tired of them, but he just smiles. A big ol’ happy genuine smile and it’s directed at THEM. He’s welcoming him back and he seems so happy about it. The Archives is completely stunned for a minute before they just laugh, teasing Welt about how much he missed them. AND THEN WELT GOES “You’re right, I missed you dearly, I’m glad you’re back in one piece :)”, that just breaks Void for a second time. In their stupor, Welt closes the gap between them and gives them a lil’ smooch to show how glad he is to have them back <3
