That is such a huge compliment!!! 😊❤️ Thank you, I am happy you enjoyed it so much. Sometime after I finish Brought to Heel I might add another installment to the New Hive but no promises (wrangling my ADHD to stay concentrated on a longer story enough to finish it is a whole task)
So regarding the movies, I envision the story takes place probably 50 to 100 years from now max, which means the movie choices contemporary to us are going to be limited to what are considered classics or notable to their genre, in all likelihood
A few off the top of my head: The Matrix, the Celluloid Closet, Anders als die Andern, Paris is Burning, the Wizard of Oz, every season of the X-Files, Scream, Nope, Alien, Gladiator

Because I'm interested in the topic myself I want to say that whoever chose the movies on the data pad has an interest in queer/LGBTQ+ cinema history (the ship's crew has a high proportion of LGBTQ+ staff) so I can recommend the Celluloid Closet. It's a really fascinating watch in terms of queer history, I wholly recommend it!
