re ageism in fandoms :

yeah , um , fuck those kids , ha , sorry , I shouldn't say that

( by the way , can I swear on here ? don't know the do's and don'ts for this site )

I've noticed though that a lot of the toxicity and stupidity in fandoms nowadays stem from those very kids

ageism is pretty stupid when you realize that a lot of adults make videos games , animations , do voice over work for ' cartoon ' characters , etc.
it's a lot of adults who hard carry that entertainment industry which kids then say that adults shouldn't even partake off - I mean , how absurd is that ?

it's also like the stereotype that animation is only just for kids when the medium can be more mature and philosophical than any live action ever could achieve

I don't think we're ever really too old for something

I think kids these days need to just stay in their lanes and interact with people their own age and learn for themselves why ageism is pretty stupid
I mean , ha , it'll be their turn soon enough to be ' too old to enjoy something ' anyways

Life is supposed to be fun - not monochromatic / perfunctory / formulaic
stories are fun and they give us an escape and sanctuary for relaxation at the end of the day
why should anyone ever stop engaging in such a thing ?
stories are also supposed to inspire us and most importantly get us to think about things that we may otherwise overlook in our own lives as well - it's purpose is never to have kids fight with us on the dumbest of things because they see something differently and / or think something should be presented in a sanitized / skeleton way

you're completely right by the on what you're saying about how to interact with and handle kids
I have a saying that when you interact any longer than you should be with someone who comes across as toxic and stupid that you inevitably come across as such yourself
reply once as an adult and if they keep on spouting nonsense to then just ignore , block and move along your way

No no, you're actually right. Kids should stay in their spaces and care more about their grades than whatever an adult decides to do with their free time. The problem is that internet etiquette and safety has greatly diminished throughout the years thanks to those parents that neglect their children or are too tired/busy to check everything they do online, so we end up having to deal with other people's children doing whatever they want because there isn't an authoritative figure in their lives to guide them on how to be decent human beings.

I know some people see this as tyranny but when I was a child my mom would often say to me "I don't have to discuss anything with you not explain to you why you're not allowed to do this or that, you'll understand when you grow up" and what do you know? I did understand once I grew up and now I'm grateful to her for not allowing me to be a little savage in public ridiculing myself and potentially exposing myself to danger.
