I was thinking of applying as an illustrator but I don't know if the artwork I have to submit as it should be detailed or can be a simple style?
You're welcome to draw in whatever style you like as long as youre having fun! I like to think of the zine like a sort of gallery to present your work, so do something youre proud of and wanna show off! We wont even be critiquing your art unless you explicitly ask or post it to the critique chat. (And for writers if you dont want us to beta your work thats also an option, its more of a perk we're providing than a requirement)
