This is definitely just an issue of shallow pools because I don't run into a lot of brats, but I've literally never met a brat who didn't instantly crumple to classic technique of "gentle laugh, then stare at her like she just said something Offensive, activate serious voice, hold the back of her neck, and destroy her attempted brat routine with verbal abuse/mockery".
