To be unhorny for a moment I really do think the Lumity arc would have been a lot more satisfying if Amity had stayed the Mean Girl Rival for, say, at least a whole season. Part of me thinks it would have been that way if the show hadn't been so restrained by looming cancellation.
Owl House was definitely hurt by pacing issues, but I also see it as a show very in-tune with fandom tropes, so I think the writers were very intentional in subverting that mean girl rivalry toxic yuri trope, lol. They wanted to not drag it out at all, and made it basically a joke just how easily Amity stopped being a shitty person once a girl was nice to her hahaha
Do I think that was for the best? Ehhhhh, hard to say! I defs think a longer series run overall would have helped in a bunch of ways, but it is what it is >///p///<
