one question about the dates that can be changed when you reveal the fic, wouldn't it be better (for writers) to change it after you reveal the author?

Could it work if the first submission date was moved to original extension date (August 21st)? That could even out the ratio.
Hi, since I’m alone hosting this fest, it’s better to have extensions in September since we have over 80 claims. It give me more time to read, approve, make the reveal templates, etc. The submissions dates are now firm and won’t change. Only the reveals may be shifted a few days if lots of submissions come at the last minute. - 🤍

If I’m writing a chaptered fic (it’s completed) .. do I need to submit all the chapters are once? Or can I reveal them week by week?

For this season, you will have to submit the entire completed fic (all chapters). Every stories revealed will be completed and fully posted even if chaptered. Hoping for your kind understanding. 🤍

i just now found this fest and i found a prompt i really love but i see claiming window has already closed. i've never participated in a fest before, but does that mean that no one can write about it? or do i need to wait until after fics and authors have been revealed and then it's free game to claim a prompt?
Oh Hi! Welcome to our fest!
And yes, the claiming period closed June 5th which means the prompts left over are not up for claiming anymore, until our next season. They also belong to the prompters and the fest collection which means you aren’t free to claim a prompt even after the fest fics are revealed. But an official decision will be made once our reveals are done and this first fest season is over. The prompts could possibly be up for claiming next year when we host our second season. I’m sorry you missed the claiming period but please don’t despair, we’ll find a way to give every unclaimed prompts a chance to be claimed in the future. Thank you for your understanding and let me know if you have any other questions.

So what if we are unable to complete the fic in time for the fest and we miss the deadline to pull out? Are there extentions?
The rules have been established since the start of the fest. We have 2 check in dates (June/July) and will determine then if a second reveal will be added. It will be determined before the drop-out deadline.

All fics must be complete by submission. No wip is allowed this time around. 🤍

Hi! About whether to delete the unclaimed prompts: I don't know if you've considered opening the collection and letting people delete their own prompts if they want to? I don't know how it works exactly (I'm not a fest mod) or if it's a good solution here, but I know One Shot Two Shots fest did something like this before the latest round started, so I wanted to drop you this message just in case to let you know. I was thinking of joining but then I saw the rule where fics must be complete until the deadline is there no way you can accept wips? Tbh sometimes life gets in the way so its not very fair to authors yk? :(
I’m sorry but no WIPs are allowed this time. We decided on a writing period of 5 months and a minimum of 1k words for this first season. We don’t think it’s unfair. And we will be reassessing the need for a second reveal date if needed next month.

Hi!! For the recent poll I voted to not delete prompts as it's an easy way to save them. Even if the fest is deleted the prompts will still be there!
So if you do end up deleting them, could you give a couple days heads up in case some don't see the notice immediately? It'd be appreciated ♡
