i became aware and a casual listener when Gangnam style and gentleman were big (as did 90% of america) but i didn’t start listening to it A LOT until NewJeans debuted. they’re the first group i’ve paid attention to every step of the way and it was all by accident. Attention popped up in my recommended the day after it came out and the rest is history
