their chemistry! hyperlaser and katana are probably the only ones who would fully understand each other because of their similar experiences. they both want the same thing (in different fonts) and they connect over that. just the way they connect. as much as i draw them as a couple being all fluffy and cute, in reality they're 100% in some strange situationship; a kind of back and forth of wanting more than friendship but not wanting to cross that line, because they're both dangerous and they wouldn't want the other to get hurt (and that thought process makes them want to rip their skin off lol). they dont wanna hurt each other by getting close to each other, but they really really want to live a domestic life. sure, they both know they could never live in peace anymore, and theyve both accepted that burden, but if they try to live that life they'll be killed. or worse, the other will be killed. they can never 100% be together, so theyre stuck running circles around each other, getting dangerously close to the line between romantic and platonic and crossing it once or twice to check the waters and fall on their butts back on the platonic side. its messy and fucked up and i hope they die
