[Inspired by the BBC TV program "The Big Questions"] Do you think Abrahamic religions are unfair to women? If so, why do you think there are lots of women following and practicing these religions?

Abrahamic religions are the way they are due to historic conditions and their later development. They just are, like culture, a product of humans. And certainly carry the good, the bad and the ugly in them we humans put in. And women, and not only women, follow old customs as they have been told to do, as their respective societies demand, as their family wants them to do. Not everybody wants to leave that ruleset, not everybody has a desire to do that, not everybody has the strength or possibility to do it. Not even those who feel the pain inflicted upon them want to leave. Only a few reject painful shit and take the consequences. And then there are mums who would protect their children in any way, even when it is their doom. So they do not question or unfollow the rulesets, they just do it as a means of protection. And by doing so they tell the children the same: be calm, follow, keep quiet, even when it is painful. And they tell children that it is for the better, for the best, it helps, it is in the name of the Lord and for happiness. So how can you ask "why" ?
