I write about Korean pop, and I'm basically an asshole. You probably shouldn't support what I do, but you could go to my website if you really wanted.

oppar, I've been noticing quite a big of "deluxe" versions of pop albums recently, and I noticed that while it's kind of common to have deluxe versions of pop albums, it's exceedingly rare to see deluxe versions of kpop albums. Why is that? And why are "deluxe" albums even a thing, couldn't they release all the tracks at once?

K-pop albums are already pretty 'deluxe' when you look at the physical packaging. In the west, repackaged albums are a scam to get superfans to buy the thing twice but adding extra tracks etc, this has been a thing since the 90s where CDs became popular and since most albums didn't fill a whole CD there was room to play with

what do you think about lolita the novel? honestly i kinda feel torn about it, people don't seem to be in a consensus that the author intended for the readers to condemn humbert

The author didn't moralise about the situation, leaving that concern to the character Humbert, and that's actually the entire story of the book, how Humbert handles moral questions. Humbert's endless twistings and turnings to justify/excuse/pardon/accept blame for his behaviour are the real subject under scrutiny. I felt like the author made this obvious enough with the 'foreword' by a fictional editor who calls Humbert "a shining example of moral leprosy" and "ponderously capricious", I think any further underlining of the point would take away from the strength of the book.

More lowering of Kpop fan insanity levels by 0.57% courtesy of our Kween Daisy. She's doing the work.

Yeah everything she said is just total commonsense, but of course k-pop fans don't have a lot of that

the thing i wonder with these dogwhistle things is that, aside from obvious things like the girls shaking their butts and shots of their legs etc, would pedophiles even notice all these details in the background and shit?

some would fly under the radar yes, and also, not every pedophile is into the exact same thing anyway. i thought the chinese videos were good but part of where they overreach is they assume all pedos like certain aesthetics.

"Your regular reminder that debuting idols ultra young is not a recent thing. At least they definitely gave BoA age-appropriate lyrics,"
this is funny cuz BoA is now like 40 yo and still making kpop music.

are her modern lyrics about having back problems and needing zimmer frames? i doubt it.
