I suppose... It's, ironically enough, the sense of abstract freedom and safety? As a switch I like making the sub happy and assured they are safe in my grasp. Or the submissive liberty where I can forfeit myself to someone who I can simply follow orders without doubts, questions or decisions tying me down.

I think a lot of the appeal as well is also trust values. In a world where trust has to be carefully handled, having that mutual hypno trust creates a feeling of connection and satisfaction in consent when it's done well, especially when it can be so whole-feeling.
