does his skull when hes transforming grow? like when he transforms into a unicorn his skull goes WHOOP out of his face but i was wondering if it grows or just retracts into his face

First his crystalline flesh shatters and pulls back,
Then his human skull contorts into his unicorn skull shape and comes out of the flesh thatβs peeled back, itβs pretty gnarly
His now unicorn skull pops out of his face and quickly regrows the flesh and fur.
When he wants to turn back just imagine the progress backwards
