What is one thing you would like to become better at?
Recognizing my own limits
I'm prone to over working myself, and in the end I'm completely exhausted and worn-out
I want to get a better work-life balance 🙏

They were with the way they asked. The way they worded it made it clear that they wanted to make me feel bad about buying a certain kind of cat.
"Why do this when.." is an accusatory way to ask people. 💖

Why buy a breed cat, when a cat in a shelter is looking for their forever home?
Because we have special needs, I have autism and anxiety and my girlfriend has adhd. Which means that the cat needs to fit the type of home we have.
Also we need an indoors cat and shelters focus on giving their cats outdoor access due to their history.
I would hate myself if I took in a shelter cat and I couldn't give it all it needs.
Breed cats also need their forever home, and we give them all the love they deserve.
Don't be so judgemental when you don't know the situation.

Why did you get diagnosed with autism so late? How did your family react to it?
Because I'm good at masking my struggles, and because my mom was good at accommodating some of my most obvious struggles, like covering up or removing tags in my clothes, making lunch that she knew I could eat etc.
I did well in school and the teachers liked me, which means I wasn't a problematic student, so I was overlooked.
I got diagnosed because of my severe depression. I was referred to the hospital's psychiatric unit, because of the severity of my condition. The nurse I was assigned, picked up on my autistic traits, and made sure I was evaluated for autism before they finished my treament.
My family has been very kind, my dad doesn't really understand it, but my mom feels likes she got some good explaination of my struggles, and is generally supportive. However, she still needs to get used to me saying I have autism.
My brother is happy for me, and my sister has ADHD, so she understands some of my struggles.

Are you resilient?
I'd say so, yes. I'm sensitive, but I've managed to mask my way through life.
I get great grades in school (A- average) and I never failed a class, I live on my own with my girlfriend, I'm soon finished with my studies, and generally live a good life, despite my handicap and mental health.
The doctor agreed that my stubborness, to not be a burden, is both a gift and a curse.
I'm still learning to understand myself and my limits better, but it's hard to unmask after 25 years

Did you pass your driving test first time?
Yes, I passed both test the first time
However, I hate driving. it gives me extream anxiety, so it was a really tough time for me to get my license

What are the hottest and coldest temperatures you have experienced?
I'm not sure about the hottest, maybe 35°C, and the coldest was -30°C
I'll take super cold over super hot any day!
