You’ve expressed your dislike of the weaponization of the word “filler”, so I was wondering, what’s your opinion on the Bleach anime? if you’ve experienced a significant amount of it, that is

I think anime fans need to remember that there's expanding on things in a meaningful way and just pressing the pause button on the main story until the manga progresses. That said bleaches filler was better than One piece just stretching out chapters with long drawn out pauses.
