I want to ask for some writing advice but I'm too embarrassed to put it in the Discord...
How are you able to commit to your plots and what you write in multi-chapter fics? I always end up wanting to change things - could be something as simple as some sentence structures to something as big as a whole plot point. But obviously you can't really be changing the fic's plot after publishing... idk if you might have some advice for that but yeah it's been a real road block for me in writing longer stories

Ahh I'm so sorry for how late I an in responding to this. I don't get notifications to retrospring for some reason so I didn't even know this was here. But I guess to answer your question is I don't stick to my plot all the time. Yes I always have a timeline that I follow and a general theme or idea I'm perusing withing the story. But sometimes I will stray away from what I have planned in my timeline if for some reason I get a new idea or a character decides to take a scene a different way (which happens a lot to me actually). I think when writing its important to be flexible while also keeping in mind what you've already written. For the most part I find it more natural when you follow the flow of the writing instead of forcing things into your planned timeline. If you looked back at my timelines and compared them to the actual chapter you'll see that they change quite a bit. However I always keep the overarching theme or end game in mind while writing so I don't get too far off track. I hope that helps!
