Kaia drifts from random job to random job as a way to keep herself busy. She doesn't need the money as she's able to live comfortably off of what she receives from the Kaiju Rehabilitation Program in exchange for allowing them to study her/keeping her absurd growth potential in check so she doesn't become civilization-threateningly monstrous.
