What are your thoughts on the unreliable narrator in stories
I think it's a great tool. My favorite childhood example was catcher in the rye which had a lot of contradictory and slightly nonsensical elements to lead your hand into realizing Holden was mentally challenged. His perspective was very biased. And it helped you to empathize with him when you realize he's just struggling a lot. I appreciate it as a tool for sympathy there. But it can also be cool in movies like Memento where it's used to trick the audience.
