What inspires you the most to do art?
That's a very good question, and one I should think about more often!
Originally, my motivator to draw and get better at it, was anger. It was a way of turning other people's negativity into something more positive. I also studied a lot, wanting to spend the negative energy on myself and my own future.
However, nowadays I am inspired by my wonderful friends and the various DnD campaigns I'm part of! I don't post half of the stuff I draw... Like, for example, yesterday I made the crappiest ms paint wojack that got us all laughing during sesh. It was amazing :D
And I am also motivated by art itself! I'll be sitting around and get that "itch" to draw something, or to worldbuild/write lore!
Also, there is a certain level of serotonin I receive from looking at my art now! I used to have an extremely unhealthy and perfectionistic outlook on it, but through the years I learned to give myself a break and appreciate the things I do. It's like: "Ah, my efforts do indeed show and I'm happy about it!"
Ah, and I suppose it's also a way for me to vent my emotions. I've found that I draw way better if I have thoughts to process. I suppose it makes the therapeutic process of art take longer, making me spend more time on it? But I think that was more active in the past when I was frustrated over my academics. I'm in a really nice uni rn! :)
Thank you for the question!
