Hi! I was wondering if the zine would accept pieces based off the live action too, or if it will just be off the anime/manga. I'm still interested regardless! Admittedly am a newer fan that got in thru the LA and just started the anime 😅

We are open to all official One Piece content from the anime to manga to video games to the live-action and everything in between!

We would give a gentle warning that our zine may not be spoiler-free and may contain content from the more recent manga chapters depending on accepted pitches!

Im sorry but im not sure what a spot artist does/is, could you explain pls ><

Of course! A spot artist is a contributor that will work alongside writers, and our zine formatter, to create illustrations to accompany their pieces of fiction. These are illustrations can range from half a page to items mentioned in the piece to Chibis of characters!

We have more information about the role of a spot artist, and all contributors, in our contributor guideline form!

Im very interested in applying but my main account is primarily nsfw, would it be preffered for me to apply from a less used sfw username?

We recommend making an online portfolio, a Google Drive for example, that may include both SFW and NSFW pieces. We do ask that NSFW pieces are in their own folder in the portfolio and are marked with appropriate content warnings (nudity, blood, violence, etc )!

You are also free to list your NSFW socials are you main social and simply ask for a content warning list for that account as well!

Would it be okay to submit two links per submitted drawing, one colored and one just line work (so you guys can see our overall skill set as well as line art)?

In our applications, you will have the option to showcase the top 3 pieces you think best reflect your artistic ability! We do suggest at least 1 of those highlighted pieces be line work or a black & white piece.

You will also have the ability, in a separate question, to link an expanded portfolio with more works!

What kind of charities is it possible this zine is thinking to donate to? I want to apply but I’m very picky about these things 😭

The team will do our best to vet the suggestions from the Interest Check and will then created a shortlist of charities we shall then present to all accepted contributors. All contributors will be able to vote on our potential charity and will help have the final say in where funds remaining after production shall be donated!

What sort of pieces are you looking for from writers in the zine itself?

For writers, we are open to a range of pieces! Fictions, letters, coloring activities such as crosswords or word searches, and other ideas would help bring color to our project!

what will the physical merch be like? just colouring pages, or...? it's hard to imagine what charms or pins etc would be like for a zine with this theme

Based on our interest check feedback, the team will be exploring a wide range of merch from coloring pages to prints to charms to enamel pins and more! For certain merch items, we will ask contributors to create black-and-white designs while for others we will allow color. We want to ensure that our supporters and our contributors all have an equal role in painting this world in a CRAZY RAINBOW!

Will this be solely in universe/canon compliant or possibly feature AUs as well?

After accepted contributors join the server they will be asked to pitch, or in other terms provide 2-3 concept ideas, of what their pieces may be. There is a chance that AU creations will appear in the project based on proposed and accepted pitches!

Will this zine accept contributors who haven't worked on a zine before? Would love to apply but am pretty new to the zine scene.

Our project does not require previous zine experience to apply! Our only requirement is that all interested applicants be 18 years of age by the time our application window closes!

Cheerful Artist · 9mo

how long do creators have to join the server after emails are sent out?

Cheerful Artist · 9mo

when will pitches be due? and also why is the writer deadline so far away from the artist one

Pitches will be due within a week of contributors joining our server, and a set day will be shared with all accepted contributors! As CRAZY RAINBOW is a coloring book zine with little to no colors needed, artists will work with 3 check-ins compared to the more standard 4 check-in systems. Writers will be granted 4 check-ins to ensure they have ample time to complete their pieces!
