Out of sheer curiosity, my mother used to bring home the most peculiarly shaped turtles a few years back. After taking care of them, given that I had over thirty species at one point, my interest has peaked even more now that I am looking after a Common Snapping Turtle (CST) as she's quite an exotic creature, and I feel oddly connected to her. We used to have iguanas as well, majestic creatures that I'd love to care for once more. Safe to say caring for reptiles runs in the family!
