The IFD plans look really fun so far from what I've seen and I'm super excited to see the full event plan! Only the OTWols know those details so far and it's really cool to be waiting just like you guys ^^ and thank you!! If I recall, it's been a while, it was a small town/village jongtae au! very fluffy and a wonderful step into the fiction world here and the boys in general! 1 of 1 was a very prime era and it's so understandable how many Shawols got made in that era 6v6 and thank you, Shelley, I'll pass that on to them as well ^^

Do all the mods have ao3 accounts? 😊 would love to show some love!!

Some of the Mods do but we've decided currently to keep ours quiet and out of the event due to the constant problems. Hopefully, if things clear up, we may share them in the future but considering the past few weeks, we decided our ability to have a safe area to destress in fic space was more important at the moment - if things do clear up though, we may share them in the future!

im curious how you do the bookmarks? some days they're done instantly and some days they just sit and I'm just curious about the way mod does them

Hey! I actually have a bit of a system for this - if there are only 1-5 recommendations when I check the accounts, I try and do them right away. If there is more than 5 (especially when a lot aren't AO3 based), Twitter Mods and I put them in the Twitter bookmarks. Then when I have time to sit down and put them all up on the AO3, I start with all AO3 works, in the bookmarks, then the external works. Then, I schedule the ones in the Retro (usually the same - AO3 then external works). If there are still a lot of recs coming in, I tend to wait until the "wave" is over before working on them just to minimise the chance of missing a tweet ^^ 🍎

will all crossover ships be allowed in the fanworks day event?

That will be down to the OTWol Mods running the event. Flame and Chick - and I as Retro Mod - are still discussing if there will be limitations and deciding on the final run of ships. They will be sharing event info on the SHINee_IFD page on the 29th / Jan 30 KST for their monthly event plans for each week of February and any statements about restrictions if they/we decide that there are any. 🍎

im confused, you said we would have no more crossover events and those prompts had been removed but now you're looking into doing fanworks day with crossovers as a theme?

If people vote to do IFD2023 then a separate account is being set up for SHINeeIFD to do so each year - it is not our specific event and will be run by the OTWols and not the event team. We were planning to run the vote either way - the fact it was crossovers was simply a coincidence and admins did not know the theme a few days ago. IFD2023, if run with us, will have some limitations as per what the Archive itself classes as a crossover and with admin safety in mind. For SHINee AO3 events themselves, crossovers are not going to be featured, at the very least, for a long while, if again.

wait ship banning?

When Mods say a ship or an idol or a CW is not allowed for an event, and we are spammed with over 70+ recommendations of it, including people QRTing tweets DIRECTLY saying that it isn't allowed in that event, then we simply cannot trust a shipdom, group, AU tag fandom and etc. to follow further event rules. A lot of this account is run on good faith of authors and readers - Mods cannot check every single work. Some days we get recommended over 600k+ words of fics. If we cannot have good faith, then we cannot trust that further event rules are going to be respected. When people are trying to tell event runners what there event rules actually mean and what is and is not valid to the event runners, there is no trust that it won't be a problem in the future. Thus, if there is no good faith, we as moderators and for safety of other readers, cannot on good faith allow that.

If someone is actively abusing fellow members of the event let us know. Other than that, it is not mods job to curate peoples internet experiences

What do you mean some ships will be unallowed in the future?

Simply as it says. In future events, if/when we end up doing crossovers again, will have some limitations. Any shipping group acting up and actively abusing moderators will have their ship added to the unallowed list. A small portion of a fandom does not speak for the entire fandom, but, when that small portion is actively abusing people then, simply, the door will be kept shut and locked. We had a mod go to hospital. We are not going to be playing around with this rule. Treat event runners like we're human.
