hi dude if i said i kin jimmy mouthwashing how many people do you think would accuse me of being a rapist/endorsing it or whatever else
the way this is worded makes me think you believe it's a large number of people.
so i'm assuming what you want me to answer is like, revolving if it would be deserved or not?
and no of course i don't think people should be able to tell you what you endorse.
i umm. i don't know. i can't say anything defining.
everyone kins differently. your intention is made clear by your reading of a character—like, if two people say they kin umm. izuku midoriya. right. and one of them talks about izuku like he's a pathetic submissive twink, and the other one talks about like like he's an overthinking, self-hating, strong ass guy, well, like, clearly someone can look a LITTLE deeper into characters.
so for these two people, kinning means something different. they don't truly both kin the same character, and the fact they 'kin' the character at all says something about how they view themselves, or how they want to be viewed.
some people purposefully misunderstand jimmy, while others believe they get him while lacking in media literacy skills.
i've seen 3 common perceptions (and i try not to consume people's mouthwashing opinions, because they Drive me fucking Insane).
purposeful, jimmy is a 'good' guy. he deserves to be liked because hating will bring people who relate to him down, and that's bad.
accidental a, jimmy is a bad guy. he's a bad guy because he hates people and wants to be bad to them, and stuff
accidental b, jimmy is a good guy. he didn't mean to do what he did, he was trying his best and knew it. he intended no harm.
4, and the one i personally agree with, jimmy is a bad guy who thinks he's good. he believed wholeheartedly he was ATTEMPTING to be good. when he felt he was not being respected, or his 'attempt' was going under looked, he took it out on others, knowingly. nonetheless, because he felt like this harm was deserved (as they harmed him first), he does not understand how he is in the wrong. an eye for an eye or something.
1 believes tend to be the typical proshipping whoever who find him hot, i find. 3 believes are cis men. 2 believes are just unfortunate. 4 believers i can't comment on because that's me. i believe i understand him a decent amount.
so really, what jimmy do you relate to?
your perception is vital, here.
people who tend to say things like "don't say his name", or genuinely believe he should be ignored as a fandom, tend to fall into the '2 believer' category—they believe that, as you would do to someone in REAL LIFE who acted the way jimmy did, the best thing to do is shun and ignore.
though of course, my belief is that in shunning you are misunderstanding. you are overlooking. as, jimmy is not a real person. his actions were part of a piece of art, the game, and are meant to be looked at. ESPECIALLY considering you PLAYING AS HIM for most of the game.
in conclusion. well, i think a bunch of people would. i think they would themselves not understand the character, or (more likely) assume you don't understand the character, or both.
and also, in conclusion, because i felt like talking about jimmy: he's absolutely fantastically written, and people's opinions on him say a lot about them, i think. i have never once had a character i hate as much as him. it's unreal to see such a realistic deception of how some real people act. i KNOW people who have the same thought process as jimmy. yet, unlike them, he is worthless, and fictional, so i can Hate him as much as i like. which i appreciate. so he's cool or whatever. as a character and concept for representation. as a 'person', i obviously hope he dies (in a way much much worse than he did).
whatever. idec ab mouthwashing bro
