Does your wife like aquariums or does she wish for the sea life to be free? Or is she the type of girl that’s like “okay I get you rehabilitate them but if you can safely return them to sea then do that.”

Aquariums are complex because just like me she really likes them the issue is that the aquarium needs to only keep animals that can survive and even thrive in captivity

Sea animals aren’t like land animals, many of the bigger and more impressive ones migrate around the world to eat and breed, many species of shark and whale never really settle down anywhere, choosing instead to just swim around and follow food

However that doesn’t mean all sharks or whales can’t live in captivity, the nurse shark for example is actually perfect for aquariums due to its more docile nature, smaller sharks that tend to single habitats can also thrive as well

I don’t think it will ever be ethical to keep things like great whites or most types of dolphin or whales, they’re just too big and require too much space

I’m completely fine with rehabilitation however, the idea is nice but the thing that always bothers me is how it may not be easy for the animal is able to reintegrate with the real ocean ecosystem. From what I have read about it tho a lot of experts seem to be conflicted about how orca rehabilitation and population stabilization should be handled, so I really don’t have a firm opinion on it.

Oh and if I see any animal at all doing tricks I’m getting my gun that shit is inhumane.
