Hello my dear Socks, I think I was literally gone for several days trying to figure out how he felt about the new collaboration and I think I decided to ignore it completely because I somehow felt affected by it? I know it's nothing relative to what you always talk about, but is there any way you feel about it? Or am I just looking for validation?

Hi, honey. I’m sorry that you’ve been having a hard time, but I want you to know that it’s completely understandable that you do. And to be affected by it is also a very valid reaction, and you coming here doesn’t make it seem as if you’re just looking for validation.

As for how I feel about it, well, this is going to be kinda long, lol.

For starters I’m not going to be streaming this collab the same way I didn’t with the coca cola one, and if I feel like giving it a listen, I’m going to pirate it instead bc it’s not rocket science. I’m also really disappointed with how some of the fanbases/fans are acting and I’ve had some time to narrow some points down to but obv not limited to:

  1. Lose My Breath vs. Like Magic (CC Collab)
  2. when the coca cola collab was announced everyone was so quick to rally and unanimously decide to boycott the song. There was no divide on that decision, and even now that MV has a bare 6 mil views when the SKZ-Fam episodes have over 10 mil and counting.
  3. this begs the question why there’s a stark difference in response to Lose My Breath as opposed to Like Magic and the more I thought about it, the more I think it has to do with how it’s a popular white American artists who’s featured on it which brings us to the next point that is:

  4. The White Man’s Western Validation

  5. one of the main excuses I see people using to back up their support for Lose My Breath is that they think this is a great opportunity for SKZ to break into the Western Market, and Charlie Puth is just a stepping stone to it.

  6. which is kinda funny when you remember how SKZ recently won their first VMA on top of a slew of other awards, consistently keeping up a winning streak on the charts, and they did it all by themselves and their hard work.

  7. and this is without considering the power of their fanbases bc if you compare Stays to whatever Charlie Puth’s stans are called, we win by a landslide. And our fanbase has no problem in getting the boys to chart and break records on a global scale over and over again with songs that don’t have a lick of English in them, too.

  8. something else I find quite ironic is that if they think SKZ collabing with well-known western artists will help them “break into the western market so we must stream”, where was this energy for Going Dumb or All My Life? Bc I promise you there wasn’t this much outcry to ‘stream! stream! stream!’ with those releases.

  9. The Kpop over Morals Mentality

  10. finally it all boils down to people having cooked noodles for spines bc if your morals are so wishy washy that you can’t boycott something as simple as a single 3 minute song written and produced by your fav’s featuring a raging sexist, rape apologist, misogynistic, Zionist man and a music video also produced by another Zionist, especially when you have literal scores upon scores upon songs that the boys have written, produced, and arranged by themselves that you can stream instead…well.

Now I know I’ll probably get hate for this answer (if anyone made it this far, lmao), and I might get told to, “okay then, stop using Twitter bc Elon’s a Zionist too!” or “you’re a fake fan bc if you actually loved the boys you would support them with this” or “boycotting doesn’t work!”, yk, the usual spiel you see going around.

If I wasn’t on Twitter I’d be on Israel’s side too bc trust me when I tell you, not a single news outlet in my country has ever covered the atrocities committed against Palestine and is instead always broadcasting shit that sympathizes with Israel. A few weeks ago there was a huge concert with local artists here + the national foreign employment bureau where they recruited hundreds of young Sri Lankan men and boys to fight in the IDF. They sent our people to fight for Russia and Ukraine too, just bc it brought back dollars to our country with their wages and the people who run this country didn’t give a single flying fuck when these 18/19 year old kids who left with two legs, two arms, and two eyes came back as cripples or didn’t come back at all.

If me using Twitter garners even a smidgeon of revenue for Mr. Wanna-be-Tony-Stark, that’s fine bc a lot of people around me who have been shitting on and blaming Palestine for October 7th just bc they didn’t know any better are now very much aware of the truth, and they’re educating their own circles.

And just fyi, idk if you remember or were aware of this, but do you know how gross Charlie Puth was when he collabed with Jungkook? And the whole Max situation, too? They're both certified leeches.

Stray Kids don’t need Charlie, Charlie needs Stray Kids the same way Max needs HYBE and is refusing to leave Korea to go back to his wife and kid bc he’s a miserable has-been in his own country (he’s also a huge racist, misogynist, and opportunist, you can easily look up how nasty of a person he actually is).

Plus, I'd like to point out that if Charlie's as excited as Stray Kids for Lose My Breath, did he even once mention the collab? D'you remember how sweet Lil Durk was, waaay before the collab was ever announced? Do you see the difference?

Also, us boycotting this one song isn’t going to leave Stray Kids penniless in the gutters. Most of the revenue from Lose My Breath is going to go to Charlie bc he’s credited in every aspect of the song, fyi. Plus, Stray Kids are grown men who are millionaires, who earn way more than most of us ever will in a lifetime, so trust me, they’ll all be more than fine if we ignore Lose My Breath and instead focused on streaming their existing songs, content, and when it comes, their actual proper comeback in June.

Finally to the people who are going to say that boycotting doesn’t do anything, that it’s pointless, respectfully shut your yap and go online and educate yourself about the effects of the worldwide boycott on McDonald’s or Starbucks for starters. Boycotting sends a message, it gets shit done, and it changes a lot especially when millions of people get together to do it.

Anyway, the bottom line is, this is how I feel about this whole situation.

I’ll be boycotting Lose My Breath religiously, and if someone considers me a fake fan for saying all this, that I hate Stray Kids or whatever, honestly it’s no skin off my back bc what does their opinion matter to me?

Everyone’s free to do as they wish, ofc, but to turn a blind eye – no matter how temporarily – to the world’s most well-documented genocide for the sake of a single song?

I have my morals and I have no issue sticking to them. If that's not the case for you, I fail to see how that becomes my problem.
