AGH!! OK. Ryoshu has always been edgy about affection, but once they're somewhat settled with each other, they have moments where they'll lie together, Ryoshu's head on Sonya's chest, and neither of them will speak. And Sonya will just pet Ryoshu. Sometimes he runs his fingers through her hair other times it's her stomach or her side or wherever but neither of them verbally acknowledge it or make a scene about it and Ryoshu gets to pretend like she's not being vulnerable but still gets to receive love. Sometimes she just lies on him and Sonya puts his chin on her head and they just stay like that too. I think Ryoshu shies away from affection a lot and Sonya not cooing at her or making a big deal out of it helps her accept that she needs love sometimes too. Ryoshu feels much better when things feel casual and not like it's a huge deal that she's accepting love
