hi! im pretty interested in buying the zine (there arent a lot of zines about tenko, im sooo excited!!) but i can't find some of the zines the mods are talking about in their zine experience. apologies if this is a stupid question, but with the recent situation with finance mods, i'd just like to see if you could link the social media of the mods past experience in the carrd itself, thanks!
Hello there!
First off, this zine will be digital and completely free! No need to fret about money!
As for the mods' prior experience, you can check our carrd for their socials: tenkozine.carrd.co
Some notable projects modded include DR Critical Dice zine, Wisteria Blossoms Shinomitsu zine, and the physical RuiKasa (Persona) zine! We hope this answers your questions, and if not please feel free to ask for clarification!
Do I have to have a danganronpa artwork as one of the three artworks I submit on the page art apps form? I don't have one that reflects my current skill or the time to make one for the app.
Hi there, thank you for your question!
To be clear, as long as you meet the requirements of the application, what you include is up to you. This is your audition to this project- so whatever you feel best represents what you could offer as a part of this project is up to your discretion.
There is a month for applications to be submitted. While that is admittedly not a lot of time, we are not looking for ALL pieces to contain Danganronpa-specific content. Nor all of them to be zine-ready works. Just samples.
For zines- it really does make a difference to apply with pieces from the chosen content that show not only your style and understanding of artistic techniques, anatomy, and color theory- but also to convey to us which applicants may suit our Zine's specific vibes. Lots of contributors have stunning art and writing, and we have to consider what will look cohesive with the rest of the project at final formatting.
If you have time- even a couple more basic pieces without backgrounds- that reflect your style in portraying these characters- would be recommended. The remainder of your portfolio can absolutely be other content that is more of your best works- to show us what you are capable of as a whole and how you stand out from other applicants.
Hope this helps! We look forward to seeing what you can do!
Hey! I’ve never made a portfolio before, but I’d love to participate! Do you have any preferences/formats preferred for creating one?
Hey there, we're happy to hear your interest in participating! There are many ways to make a portfolio and they will differ depending on your art form. Many people use a Google Drive folder since it is easy to organize and label.
For writers, an AO3 (archive of our own) account can also serve as a portfolio. In some cases an Instagram can also be a portfolio if it is primarily used for your chosen art form (art, merch, or cosplay). Wix also has a free option to make a website with a portfolio. Any of these options are fine!
Is there a cosplay mod? I see that there's cosplay applications but which mod is handling them isn't listed on the carrd, so I thought I'd ask!
Hello there! Our Head Mod will also be serving as our cosplay mod. We just updated it on our carrd to reflect that and will be posting more details on the mod team in the coming days!
are we able to apply for more than one position (i assume we will only get into one)? thank you! i’m excited for this zine :)
Hey there, great question! I realize we didn't add that to our guidelines so we just updated it. Contributors are welcome to apply to more than one position but will be accepted for only one! If you have a preference please let us know!
