Sorry for the delay in answering! I just saw this! I haven’t actually done any official collaborations yet (though I have something in the works with a friend, and I’m participating in the Bang in December, which is a big collaboration event!) What you saw in my bodyswap fic was probably me making reference to some of the little fics and comics some people did for my DTIYS on my Twitter (which was super fun!)

I am a big fan of collaborating, though I feel like (with the exception of an event like the bang) I’d probably only choose to collab (at this time!) with someone I talk to and am comfortable with, simply because of how vulnerable you have to be in order to work together, you know? But if we chat and you have an idea for something to collab on feel free to throw it my way (though time is yet another factor… there is never enough of it to fit in all the projects I want to 😭)

As for proof reading, it depends! Some things I just proofread myself and sometimes I have a friend beta read it. Whether I have someone else help with beta reading usually depends on my confidence/comfort level in what I wrote (which tends to vary wildly 🤣)

Sorry for the long, rambling answer!

Okay, so I did some math for this one lol I’ve done 15-minute writing sprints before and my average seems to be 300-350 words per 15 minutes (it’s been anything from 200 to 400 though haha), and since 5000-ish tends to be my average oneshot/chapter length, basically the absolute fastest I could realistically sit down and write in one sitting (without stopping!) would be about 4 hours.

That being said, considering how sometimes the words come much slower than that, and the amount of editing I go back and do, I would guess maybe 6-8 hours on average (not including breaks!) between the initial writing and then going back and editing/re-writing. But I’ve absolutely had some take more than 10 hours (I know this because I have a 10-hour white noise youtube video open in a tab that I almost always start playing when I write, and there have been a few times I’ve had it get through all 10 hours before I’ve finished what I’m working on 😅) However, I’ve definitely had some take as little as 4-5 hours when it’s not as long and I’m feeling very inspired!!!!

A few! Here are some
1. I wanna get this controversial/‘realistic’ one out of the way first — though I enjoy reading eggpreg/looking at art of it and will probably write something for the upcoming theme week, in reality I can’t really imagine Stolas or Blitzø deciding to have any more children. I think their girls are enough for them 🫣

1. Okay moving on to more fun ones 🤣 I think it would have to be planned because special magic would be needed

2. Despite #1, if one of them WAS to want more children, I think Blitzø is the one who would catch baby fever and would convince Stolas to get onboard

3. I think neither Octavia nor Loona would take it very well and there would be some damage control necessary with the girls, but it would all work out okay 💜

4. I think Blitzø would be absolutely over the top protective over both Stolas and the egg and would be the most adorable worrying dad while Stolas would be calm and have to talk him off the edge haha

I’m so sorry you’re feeling anxious about talking to people! And I really do understand. I felt very much the same way when I first joined the fandom!

I feel like the honest answer is that yes, it’s a little clique-y but not in a mean-spirited way? Do you know what I mean? I feel like there are little clusters of people — like lots of the fic writers have kinda gravitated together, and the visual artists, and then certain people who have popular fandom accounts in general. I feel like those groups have kind of formed organically, and I don’t think anyone is intentionally trying to exclude anyone either. I think it’s kind of just people happening to form groups. Does that make sense?

For what it’s worth, I have yet to meet anyone who has been rude or rejected my attempts at talking to them. Every fandom will have a few bad eggs, of course. But the majority of the fandom seem to be really cool!

I think if you’re looking to make friends, my biggest advice is to start by interacting with them through commenting on their posts and stuff? That’s how I met the majority of my fandom friends!!! We commented on each other’s stuff and started talking that way.

Joining discord servers is great too, if you can! I know those can be a little intimidating too though. So really, Twitter interaction is a great starting point 💜

I’ve written fics here and there for a bunch of fandoms (mostly on Fanfiction.net under a different name, when I was younger haha) between there and ao3, I’ve written fics for Harry Potter, Phantom of the Opera, Ranma 1/2, Pushing Daisies, Game of Thrones, Frozen (yes, really 🤣), Sherlock, The Dragon Prince, and Castlevania. But I only ever wrote 1-2 fics per fandom.

This is my first time writing THIS many fics for the same fandom! The only exception would be my Sims stories, which I wrote for about 5 years! (If you’re wondering wtf I’m talking about haha there is a very niche little group of Sims players who write stories and then ‘illustrate’ them with their sims. It sounds much lamer than it actually is!)
