Did you ever have a point in your art career where something you learned finally clicked? Like you finally grasped something you tried years ago?

Probably shading / coloring! I used to shade by changing the opacity of dark colors, and I always wondered why all my art was dull. It was frustrating, but then I learned I can just pick the shading colors myself lol and not rely on opacity
