Yes! One of the things that's been slowing me down is trying to get the State of the World 'straightened out' so to say. I've been getting stuck on a lot of the finer details that probably wouldn't be relevant to any small/short comic stories but I'm a bit over-obsessive and it's hard to curb that.

Ruen is recovering from a cataclysm that's changed much of the natural and societal order. Nearly an entire continent was lost to 'monsters', 2/3rds of the flora, fauna and inhabitants were mutated by uncontrolled magic. Much of that same magic managed to find its way over to other lands and for the past 500 years it has been the cause of countless wars, loss of life, and environmental damage.

Much of this has calmed down in current times, but there is still tension. Many new species both feral and intelligent have arose from the magic that ravaged the world, nations that previously thrived now have to contend with new and unfamiliar neighbors, and there is still the risk of magical corruption and mutation everywhere. Ruen has changed forever and it's inhabitants must learn how to live with it, and how to prevent such cataclysms from happening again.
