Didn't play Lost World in a very long time but just the idea of a running button in a Sonic game, idk I'm not fond of it, I prefer gaining speed progressively without having to press a button, and then eventually use a boost button to go even faster, even if how Sonic games are currently evolving, I'd prefer if the boost wasn't an absolute necessity to go fast, even if I can understand why they do that. I think I'd prefer if you could actually keep the boost's momentum which could also bring some strategy in how you use your boost, it could be interesting for time attack

I dunno, I think it depends a lot on the kind of game, and typically for a new Sonic game nowadays, which would likely be more like an Action RPG with platforming, it would be less about fixing and more about adapting the idea to this new formula

Sooooo I don't really have a number 1 fav, but among those I love the most there's "And The Hero Will Drown" by Story Of The Year, which was featured in Need for Speed: Underground. It's really one of the songs that illustrates the best what I love in rock music from the early 2000s, all of that in a game with vibes I have a lot of nostalgia for (and honestly NFS Underground is still very fun today!)
