Why can’t people just tag things. I know it’s small and people should be allowed to do what they want with their works, but it doesn’t harm anything by tagging dynamics. (I got a bottom HC fic on my ao3 where I have my tags very clear and the author won’t add dynamic tags :/)
To me these people feel either selfish or they're not able to comprehend that not everyone has the same preference and some people might not be comfortable with switching the dynamics.
Adding tags to your fic is the basic etiquette. It's the least you can do to ensure that people know what they go into and that those who are not comfortable with this specific thing have a choice to not read it. When you think of it, a tag for dynamics is not much different from other warning tags like; piss kink, body horror, somnophilia, non-con, medical kink, mpreg, age gap — those are all things that you'd prefer to have tagged bcs they might be a potential trigger, and dynamics are the same.
