People crossing boundaries with people's personal lives (like as in not just shipping, but involving their friends/family and asking the individuals about it personally) has been known to cause rifts though - that's just if it becomes more pronounced than a few people, but it's a real risk if the fandom doesn't cull the behaviour while it's small
Yes, invading someone's privacy is a really shitty thing to do, I totally agree. They deserve privacy like any other human being does. However, I think that people saying "Oh their relationship is gonna fall apart!" Or "They're not gonna show themselves anymore!" Is just obnoxious, and frankly almost as bad as the people being too nosy. None of us know them personally, but to use THEIR relationship as a "gotcha" moment to hold some moral high ground over someone isn't okay either. Of course everyone should be respectful, and I don't agree with what the fncaller was asking (though I think it REALLY was blown out of proportion with people spreading blatant misinformation about it), but honestly it seems like people almost want them to have a rift in their relationship to say "Ha, I told you so!" Because people are JUMPING on the opportunity to say that. At the end of the day, they absolutely deserve privacy, but people shouldn't be jumping to conclusions and being rude to all mnsvngers, who are often so supportive and loving towards them. This whole situation has been just blown out of proportion and I think that their 7 year long bond will be okay.
