what are your thoughts on each song of the new album? (:

well... i loved them all hahah no but. i think this album is kind of weird in the sense that is not as cohesive as other albums, i guess? i feel like there are a lot more of variety in this album and in a sense i like it, because i'm the kind of person that really enjoys a lot of genres of music, but in another is... confusing? maybe that's the word? yeah, confusing, as in unexpected. somehow they managed to make a sufficiently consistent album, probably for a lot of music production elements i know nothing about. i can see that they made an album attemping to be global and local at the same time which... is not exactly my cup of tea (i understand kpop wanting to go mainstream in the western blablabla i don't care abt that tho i think kpop is very good in being their own industry, but that's a topic for another day), BUT is made in a way that's really loyal to txt sound and that makes me happy. they're always changing and evolving anyways and this doesn't stand out as anything outside that path.

anyways about the songs themselves.

growing pain is one of my favorite songs because they were appealing to my teenagers days and they did it perfectly. maybe because i'm a lot more used to listen to that kind of music it was one of the songs i was more excited and scared about. they delivered in a much better way i ever expected, to be honest. is honest to god a GOOD rock punk emo song and i LOVE IT. i love how intense it is, leaning into the goth side of punk, which is a lot more emotional. for real made for those emo moas out there.

the title track, chasing that feeling, is sooooo good. really love it. the more i listen it the more i like it. i think soobin was so right about it not being the typical kpop title track, yet i don't find it underwhelming at all. i'm also a big fan of new wave and the sound reminds me of a ha, with that synth pop and the chorus being more lyrical... it's true that it's not a daring song, i would say, but i don't think it needs to be. it works well in itself. not my fav title song of them, true, yet i'm enjoying it very much.

about back for more, i must confess i don't really like collabs with western artists... still, i prefer the collabs with latin artists and i liked the anitta version even if i prefer the back for more txt ver. i was really surprised while listening to the album for the first time by how well it fitted in the album. i expected for it to feel out of place but it didn't. it doesn't cut the flow of the album and as someone that listens to albums in order i was very thankful for that.

i loved dreamer. that's when i started to feel amazed by the album. i reaaaally like r&b and soul music so i was very please by this song. i didn't expected it AT ALL after the three tracks from before but i think it also fits the album really well. their vocals SHINE here and the instrumentals are so beautiful. it slows us down after the first tracks and it feels kind of more mature? after the rage from growing pain and desperation from chasing that feeling.

about deep down... i thought i wouldn't like it because the style of chorus and drop is not at all what i usually listen to. and the first time i listened to it the first chorus sounded kind of empty for me, even tho the prechorus is so beautiful, but i've come to appreciate how the song builds up and now i find myself really loving it.

happily ever after is ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS. i know abt the unfair lines distribution and it angers me, yes, but... the song is so good TT_TT i just love how optimistic it feels after the rage and desperation we started with and then the more sophisticated, mature turn we take.

skipping stones is the perfect indie rock pop song. it's just so good and i understand why soobin loves it so much. IT'S SO AMAZING. i'm not even talking about the lyrics but i must mention the lyrics of this song in particular. the other songs have incredible lyrics as well but skipping stones really speaks to my heart. and i love the drums here, for real. (and their voices. oh god!)

finally... what can i say about blue spring? i'm so happy having the studio version! it just sounds so good, their VOICEEEES OHMYGOD. they've really improved and i think of all the songs of the album is probably the one that reminds me more of txt from other eras, if that makes sense.

and finallyyyy about do it like that... eventho joe jonas has proven to be boo sadly i really like this song. again, not really into collabs but it's a fun tune. i clean a lot while listening to it hahahah

and that's it! A LOT OF AMAZING SONGS I'VE BEEN LISTENING ON LOOP SINCE RELEASE. really recommend going on a walk while listening to the album, 1000/10 experience fr.
