I saw that you will judge the applications blind to avoid bias, but if you're biased towards an artist, wouldn't you know their work so you would recognize their portfolio even without seeing their name?
In the event that all the judging mods recognize the same artist, they have been instructed to defer to other mods. It's impossible to avoid familiarity bias but we are hoping that being truthful about artist recognition will result in a fairier vote. Logistically, not every mod will recognize the same art style and if they do we have the above method to combat that. Our blind apps process is a response to smaller, less-promoted Genshin creatives who are often overwhelmed by the Genshin zine scene. Our goal is to avoid picking popular artists simply because they are popular.
