are backgrounds mandatory? also, should the portfolio be minimum 5 pieces or MAXIMUM 5 pieces?
Backgrounds are recommended if you are applying as a page artist. All of your pieces do need to be completed though. The portfolio can have any number of pieces that you'd like to share.

Hi! I don't have any SxF pieces yet, so is it okay if I create one for the app and (in case I get accepted) use part of it for my zine piece? (as it would still be an original work which only the mods had access to)
If your idea is approved, this should be fine. Just make sure you don't share the piece online until you know if you are accepted or not. If you are accepted, we ask that you do not share your peice until after the project is completed.

No, all contributors do not need any prior experience. Contributors will be walked through what they need to do if they need any help.

Hello!
Either is fine! If you provide digital pieces, just make sure that the art style of those digital pieces is the same one you would use for merchandise in the zine.

Unfortunately, we will not be sending money to proxy accounts. Our finance mod is uncomfortable doing so because it is difficult to verify the legitimacy of a proxy account.

Will minors be allowed to contribute?

All contributors must be of the age of 16 or above by the time of applications, meaning certain minors may apply! However, we will not be able to financially compensate minors. Contributors who are minors may be compensated with a physical zine bundle if finances permit.

Hello, we assume that you mean this as a concern. Our interest check results will be posted once the interest check comes to a close. Because the form is still accepting responses, results can not be published yet, as the data would be incomplete. As for updates, the mod team will keep our social medias active throughout the zine timeline and will announce important updates when necessary.

is there any profit for this zine
This zine intends to be a for profit zine. That means that, if funds allow it, contributors will be financially compensated for their work. However, we will only be able to compensate adults (18+) in this way. Contributors who are minors can be compensated with physical bundles of the zine if desired.

Does this zine strictly prohibit “proshippers” from participating? I feel uncomfortable supporting if it does not.
Starlight Anya: an Anya Forger zine is an explicitly SFW zine, meaning that all content within the project will adhere to that policy. As such, the mod team will make sure to curate a SFW environment during the duration of the project. We also ask that all content submitted during contributor applications is SFW. However, the moderators will not be able to manage what future contributors or applicants do during their own time. We will, therefore, not be judging applicants on their creative expression outside of this zine. We have updated our carrd with information related to this topic and, therefore, will not be answering future questions in this nature.

Are minors allowed to join as contibutors?
Hi there!
The minimum age requirement by the time of applications is 16! You will not be compensated monetarily as a minor, however. If funds permit, we will provide you with a physical zine product instead. :)

Yes, of course! You may apply for multiple roles, but you will only be accepted for one role.
