On september 1, 2018, 17:20 local time , an experimental amateur-built airplane flown by an airline pilot in Covington, Tennessee was flying 60 metres in the air in a high speed, lowpass manover, when its left wing failed. Tragically the pilot lost their life in the crash. The NTSB report determined the probable cause to be the improper manufacturing of the wing which was not penetrated thoroughly which resulted in a left wing flutter event and failure at low altitude and high speed.
