idk man i am actually excited for iomt even tho some people are being skeptical over it. i just think atz will eat it up anyways. people didn't fw work too at first but i think it's one of their iconic songs everrrr. also this might be controversial but with the current vibe that atz are going for rn, idt we are going to get songs like 1ncepti0n as a title track anytime soon. im okay with it tbh but it feels like half of the fd are throwing rocks over the concept change 😵💫 PLUSSS i really don't mind the concept as long as wy keep his hair a little longer i need my wife pls pls
atz always eats, let’s be honest, but i do think it’s fair for fans to be weary or disappointed that this is the direction the group is going musically — especially older fans, that were used to getting songs like dazzling light, answer, the real — even just tracks from the world vs golden hour — it’s a big genre change. because atz had this more up-beat, FAST music tempo, with a lot going on musically, these “less complicated” music tracks are a huuge switch up. it’s not necessarily a bad thing, but i’m just saying that i can understand why some fans are beginning to feel a bit off. i am some fans.
i’ve been with ateez since the beginning, as in, kqfellaz beginning. so i’ve seen it all ahajahaj. even though there’s different genres from the eras and albums, there still is this common thread of the titles being more pop/noise/however you wanna define it. we only really started to get differently somewhat in will, and DEFINITELY in golden hour pt. 1, with it being a more latin based sounding album, as well as golden hour pt. 2. pt 2 b sides are somewhat a little more back to form, but IOMT is completely flat. no matter where you scroll in the song the back track has the same splash, nothing exciting is happening in that background, which also makes the entire song a lot flatter, with few places anything interesting actually happens (sorry my hate kinda really popped off here). take something like IOMT and fireworks. i think that makes it much clearer why so many seem to not fuck with this direction at all. the two songs practically couldn’t be further apart 😭😭 i’m not saying they did a bad job with IOMT. for what the song is and what it wanted to be, it NAILED it. and their performance is always completely fantastic. but it’s just not the music that made me fall in love with atz.
at the end of the day, atz is a boy band producing music. i’m there for the music — and the music isn’t fitting my taste. important note there my. it’s fitting a lot of people! and i do think they should explore and do what they want to musically, but that doesn’t mean i’m still not somewhat disappointed 😭
i feel like i sound super mean, and im really sorry that your ask is the one i went full snappy on 😭 ily and your opinion is equally as important as mine! just because i disagree it will not take away your feelings on the matter, both are equally valid 💗
also, i can say here 2 months later, not only did wy keep his hair long, it’s BETTER 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
