do you have tips for growing art socials like twitter? (////) sorry to be cringe, but i'd love to have a bigger audience for when i wanna start selling my art... and you're such a role model. ive been tweeting/posting/interacting consistently for a while now with very slow growth gahhhh
HI OMG FIRST OF ALL sorry for taking a while to respond! anyways, as for tips, auuhhh.... i'm not Too Sure tbh.... i think i'm just lucky with the algorithm?? 😭😭 so i personally don't do anything.. i just post at random times whenever i have art...
but! generally from what i know/have experienced:
meme posts get a lot of attention tbh? if you draw something funny people will like/rt it
in my experience comics and such get more attention than just regular drawings of single characters? having characters interact and "what if" scenarios are more popular among people i think... sketch pages etc etc also get more attention, probably because posting a big ol canvas with different drawings will make people click to take a closer look which will help your algorithm because it's essentially an interaction on your post and interactions on your posts help a lot
adding to the point above, i heard that more slides on an instagram post gets better attention because people are more likely to interact with them, so that's something to take note of maybe if you're also posting on ig!
interacting with other people on twt definitely works!! one because you get more moots/friend who will rt ur art and also the more you tweet the better the algorithm on ur account is (i think?)
not posting for a while makes it really hard for you to come back (in my experience) so i want to say post as often as you can but that can be difficult so don't pressure yourself too much if you can't!
i heard having recognizable art also helps? (my art i post is personally is pretty varied in style because i like to do many different things with my art so...!) the idea is that if people see your art multiple times theyll think "oh.. its this artist! i should follow them!" i think. that or just drawing a specific niche? if that's the right term. for me i gained a lot of followers because i drew a lot of heartsteel ezkayn and i kept drawing that (bc i love them a lot!!) and because people started recognizing my art i think i got a lot of followers that way...?
i wish i could say more! i would say don't worry about follower count or anything because that can be really hard on ur mental health but also you mentioned you wanna start selling your art and it's really good to have a big-ish following to do that so i can't really say that KJDSFKJFH
AND HONESTLY I DONT REALLY KNOW HOW I GOT TO THIS POINT .... i'm really honored to be a role model to you..! i've never been told i was someone's role model before so i'm really flattered hehe... good luck, and i hope i help at least a little bit even if i dont really know what im doing KJFDG
